Why does a presentation that works in one country not work in another? If there's one thing I've had to learn in my global role, it's understanding the nuances between personality-types and decision-making, across different cultures and countries.
I've given presentations designed for the Nordics/Central Europe which worked well in Stockholm but fell flat in Copenhagen. Some decks designed for a Parisian audience didn't work at Cannes. I seen first call decks designed in New York this didn't land in LA. Or Singapore. Or Jeddah. Or Tokyo...
I always come back to this book.
The Culture Map by Erin Meyer
I'm writing a new global curriculum for a commercial storytelling program, and this book is helping me make sure each message is tailed appropriately for each market.

And in today's highly-charged, geo-political climate, where we seem to be struggling more than ever to understand each other, this book is as important as ever. It's technically solid and based on science, but it's also beautifully written which makes it a pleasure to read.
I highly recommend you picking up a copy.
