FREE BOOK ALERT! Kinda... I just hosted a workshop for young leaders and we created this 4,200 word "book" in 57 minutes!!!
In under ONE HOUR (with no prep in advance), AI brain-stormed some ideas with us, picked one, structured the story, found scientific sources, wrote the content, the title, edited the pages, formatted it, AND designed the front and back cover as an original image.
Using just one computer.
100% from scratch.
In ONE hour.
And it's pretty good.

Now look, it was written 100% AI. There are ZERO edits in the copy here because I wanted to show you the original. I've not tried to make it look better. I've not added in ideas or quotes myself. NOTHING has been changed.
It's an original idea from an AI "hallucination" as part of our creative storytelling session.
Brief: "What if we turned Jeremy's 'Story Compass' research into a self-help book for business storytellers to help their stories have more impact? Written by a performance coach, grounded in science and psychology, using the premise that 'We are the stories that we tell ourselves'".
But it is surprisingly good. Cheesy. But thoughtfully written with some provocative questions I genuinely want to use. It's an entire concept based on some of my research, that I’d never really considered.
There are clearly many things missing; the AI is trying a little too hard to be Tony Robbins, each thought needs a human story to bring it to life, there is repetition, the writing needs more empathy, and all the scientific sources need citing so they don't sound like opinions etc... but come on, to create this finished version from scratch - cover-to-cover - in 57 minutes is quite astonishing, no?
I use AI a lot but even this blew me away, in terms of the quality of the output from our AI-powered conversations and brainstorming.
If you have a quick flick through, you can easily tell it was written by AI, but some of the thoughts and ideas here are superb.
There are dozens of reasons why a "book" like this should NEVER be published, but me and a couple of young consultants created something that could have taken a week just a couple of years ago – and we did it in one hour.
Takeaway:
We really need to stop thinking of AI as "artificial intelligence" and we need to start to thinking of AI as our personal IA - "intelligent assistant".
A creative consultant and communications coach in our pocket, available 24/7. One which can help us to be a little better at our jobs. Faster.
If you feel anxious or nervous about using AI, maybe try playing with it like we just did, and see what you can create? You might be surprised...

✨ Note: 40% of self-published books on Amazon are now written by AI and most authors do not declare it! 😬 This post is not to encourage you to write a book purely using AI (that's a terrible idea), but to encourage you to use AI as a creative partner to help you amplify your work and what you love. ✨
